Rui has a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Laws degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is the President of the Canadian Maritime Law Association and a director of the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association. Rui has run a number of successful businesses including vessel chartering, biotechnology, small hydroelectric and publishing.

She also co-leads Deloitte’s Sustainable Supply Chain offering to support in the development and advancement of strategy and delivery across 4 key pillars to address clients’ signature issues (responsible partnerships, enabled circularity, impact-driven supply chain and curbed external emissions). She joined Deloitte with almost 10 years of industry experience working in Oil & Gas for a large international integrated oil company.
