CITT and Champlain College Saint-Lambert Partner to Offer French-Language Training in Transportation & Logistics Fundamentals
CITT has announced a new partnership with Champlain College Saint-Lambert in the Montreal, Quebec area. The two institutions are collaborating to offer, for the first time ever, the Canadian Transportation & Logistics Fundamentals microcredential fully in French, including all instruction, learning materials, textbooks, assignments, and exams.
“We are incredibly excited to announce this collaboration with Champlain College,” said Pina Melchionna, President & CEO of CITT. “The logistics industry in Quebec and French Canada is massive. There’s so much Francophone talent eager to make their mark and we’re proud to be able to help them develop the crucial competencies they need to drive the industry forward.”
“Particularly exciting about the partnership,” she continued, “is the translations of our core textbooks, which are the only ones in the market covering transportation and logistics from a Canadian perspective. These important resources will now be available fully in French, for the many Francophones working in our critical industry. The entire organization is looking forward to working with industry and individuals to advance our profession in French Canada.”
“For Champlain, this new venture with CITT is directly in-line with the mission of our college, which includes responding to the needs of diverse linguistic and cultural communities,” said Mark Wallace, Director, Continuing Education at Champlain Saint-Lambert. “This builds on Champlain Saint-Lambert’s long-standing relationship with CITT, and will definitely open some new doors for those in industry to enhance their learning and credentials, and we couldn’t be happier to be on board to help.”
The Canadian Transportation & Logistics Fundamentals microcredential offers a broad yet deep overview of all the transportation modes used in Canada as well as the logistics processes that connect transportation, distribution and warehousing to the wider supply chain. This microcredential, offered through Champlain College Saint-Lambert’s Business & Industry Services division, will provide vital training for:
- Individuals already working in logistics-related roles who seek professional development and/or a certificate issued by an industry association in addition to the academic credential.
- Those who are new to logistics (or new to logistics in Canada), as a condensed program providing a solid foundation in Canadian transportation & logistics that can be taken as a standalone, or as the beginning of more learning.
Graduates will also earn two credits towards the CCLP (CITT-Certified Logistics Professional) designation, if they wish to further advance their careers and build additional in-demand logistics competencies.
The partnership was announced at an event hosted by Champlain College Saint-Lambert on October 9, 2024.
