CITT and the University of Manitoba Asper School of Business Announce Partnership
CITT and the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba Formalize Relationship with Streamlined Path to the CCLP Designation
CITT – Canada’s Logistics Association – has announced their newest formal partnership with an academic institution. The Asper School of Business, at the University of Manitoba, is now officially an advanced standing partner of CITT, with two programs recognized for advanced standing towards the CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP®) designation. The partnership was announced at an event held at the University of Manitoba on September 26, 2024.
Though this new agreement, graduates of both the Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Supply Chain Management and Logistics programs at the Asper School of Business can now access two fast tracks to earn the CCLP designation, with the option to proceed directly to the challenge exam once they have at least three years of experience working in the industry, or with 50% credit equivalency towards earning the designation through the CCLP program of study.
Students also have the option to join CITT as affiliate members until they meet the requirements to become certified members.
“The University of Manitoba is actually one of CITT’s longest standing relationships, dating back to the days of the Transport Institute’s Certificate in Logistics program,” said Pina Melchionna, CITT’s President & CEO. “Now, we’re excited to partner once again with an advanced standing agreement that brings even more value to graduates and alumni of both the BCOMM and MSCM programs at the Asper School of Business. Winnipeg is a large and important Canadian logistics hub – it’s so critical that we all work together to graduate talent to help with the labour shortage in this vital industry, both in the province of Manitoba, and nationally.”
“The Asper School of Business continues to work to equip our students with everything they need to succeed in their careers. Our logistics and supply chain students acquire the competences and skills required by the industry and our graduates have been serving the logistics, transportation and supply chain sectors in Manitoba and Canada for many decades. This partnership with Canada’s Logistics Association is a testament of that and provides an additional career path to our Asper graduates to continue to transform the business landscape and make an impact in society,” said Bruno Silvestre, Dean I.H. Asper School of Business.
