CITT – Canada’s Logistics Association – and NISCL (The National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders) have announced the signing of an industry alliance between the two organizations. The alliance marks a new era of formal cooperation between the associations, with the goal of providing mutual value to members and advancing the supply chain logistics industry as a whole.
“We’re very excited about this new chapter in our relationship with NISCL,” says Pina Melchionna, President & CEO of CITT. “While our organizations have different focuses – CITT primarily on transportation logistics and NISCL on supply and procurement – we know we have significant overlap in membership and the organizations we work with.” She continues “By coordinating our offerings and collaborating when it makes sense, we know we can do even more for our sector and the people working in it.”
The first major example collaboration comes as CITT rolls out the program for its Canada’s Logistics Conference 2025, which will be in Toronto June 4-6th. NISCL will be formally supporting the conference, including presenting a procurement-focused session. NISCL members will also be able to attend the event at a preferred rate.
“This alliance is the culmination of a shared vision and a strategic step forward," says Al-Azhar Khalfan, President & CEO of NISCL. "At NISCL, we are committed to supporting the supply chain profession in Canada. Effective supply chain leaders need to be well versed and current across all areas of the supply chain. Therefore, for our members working in collaboration with CITT, it brings forward an opportunity for two leading associations to bring their communities together and leverage our respective areas of strength as well as leading best practices. This partnership provides an invaluable platform for members of both the organizations to share insights, drive innovation, and shape the future of our industry.”
“We are already feeling very enthusiastic about the upcoming CITT conference – and our entire team is looking forward to announcing many more collaborations in the years to come”, he continued.
