What is the Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics Microcredential?

The Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics microcredential recognizes that a professional has completed the CITT program of the same name. It teaches and validates the base principles of transportation, distribution and logistics in Canada.

Those who earn the credential have it forever - they are not required to renew it.

 Is this a new credential?

The Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics microcredential has previously only been available in special settings or via select CITT corporate partners. As of December 2024, we are opening registration to the wider audience for the first public intake, starting January 20th.

How long does it take to earn?

The Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics microcredential is earned in almost exactly 6 months. You'll start January 20th and write your final exam the week of July 22nd.

What is the cost?

The full cost of the microcredential is $1440 CAD, plus taxes. This includes:

  • Two comprehensive and interlocking curricula in Canadian transportation logistics and distribution processes compressing years of knowledge for rapid learning in one place
  • Supportive, personalized learner mentoring & course facilitation by proven logistics practitioners, educators and experienced learning coaches
  • Flexible online learning delivery presented within a structured program that also keeps you on track
  • One great price and two FREE digital textbooks
  • Your official micro-credential, recognition by summer that’s digitally shareable and will support you for the rest of your career.

This cost is only available when the microcredential is purchased as a whole. Learners wishing to register for individual courses or take courses in non-consecutive semesters must purchase them a la carte.

If I miss January 20th when is my next chance to earn the microcredential?

The next opportunity will be in May 2024, pending available spots.

Are there eligibility requirements?

This microcredential is open to everyone working in or around the transportation logistics sector, even if you are not currently employed or have not worked in Canada. If you have never worked in or around the industry and are looking to start your career, CITT has many academic partners to suit your learning needs.

How is the microcredential learning structured?

The microcredential is divided into two halves, each lasting about three months. The learning is entirely online and flexible. Each week has assigned learning and assignments, such a quiz, group discussion or case assignment. Though you can complete the learning and submit your assignments and any time during the week that works for you.

Each half of the microcredential has a final assignment and exam.

How much time per week should I plan to spend working towards the microcredential?

The typical range of time spent by successful learners is between 4-10 hours per week.

Is this different from the traditional CCLP program of study?

The Canadian Transportation & Distribution Logistics microcredential is a standalone credential that also teaches to the foundational competencies and abilities in the CCLP program. When you complete the CTDL microcredential, you’ll get a microcredential you’ll have for the rest of your career. If you want to take your career even further, you can continue at any time towards the CCLP designation by completing three advanced-level courses.

Will I become a member of CITT if I earn this microcredential?

While you're studying - and for a year afterwards - you'll be a student member of CITT. Afterwards, you can continue membership by taking courses towards the CCLP designation - or by becoming an affiliate member of CITT.
